Are you looking for a PGI product?
PGI stands for Protected Geographical Indication. To obtain the PGI mark, it is sufficient that even one of the stages of production, transformation or processing of the product takes place in a specific geographical area.
Nepitella is the main ingredient of bitter Nepèta, the first herbaceous note that is felt on the palate during the first sip and that brings to mind all the wild flavor of the Sicilian countryside.
The lemon of Syracuse PGI is the second ingredient of bitterness, which after the first sip leaves on the bottom of the palate a slight hint of bitterness given by the infusion of its rind.
Some of the bitter herbs used are artemisia, citrus aurantium amara, gentiana, all strictly Sicilian and that grow spontaneously throughout the Hyblaean territory. They are the final touch of the recipe and help to create the perfect balance of Amaro Nepèta.
