SICILIAN ART

Someone claims that in their works of very high and very rare quality, contemporary Sicilian artists are among the few to represent through a natural application of maieutic art, the past, the present and the future of this wonderful land of Sicily.

Among the many artistic expressions we want to mention those of ceramics and sculpture, which in Sicily are among the oldest arts. In fact, they appear for the first time in the Neolithic and collect countless testimonies of all the eras in which various dominations have alternated, bringing as a dowry a unique mix of different traditions and cultures that is unparalleled in the rest of the world. Both ceramics and sculpture fascinate us for the strong relevance with the themes of this site, representing an important piece of furniture for the Sicilian home and table.

Among the many well-known and high-quality productions, precisely because they respect that criterion of singularity and uniqueness that is inherent in the DNA of our selections, we have identified and want to promote the production of two very special Artists.

PATRIZIA ITALIAN

He has exhibited in Milan, New York, Tokyo, the United Arab Emirates and other countries. Here more than anywhere else his art and his style, contemporary and ironic, immediately transfer strong emotions that stimulate the imagination. The production is entirely artisanal and therefore: furnishing elements, plates, bowls, mugs and every other object are absolutely unique and different from each other.

MARIANO BRUSCA

He has exhibited at the Venice Biennale, in Milan (Le Sale del Re), in Turin (Sala Nervi – Palazzo delle Esposizioni), in Tunis (Salon de l'IIC).

Starting from Painting, he chose sculpture as a fundamental means of expression of his versatile and eclectic character, characteristics that have also allowed him extraordinary artistic excursions in graphics, scenography and even photography.

In his works he deals with the theme of classical sculpture, revisiting it through a personal polychromy and using the various techniques of the applied arts: mosaics, bronze casting, wood stone processing and ceramics.

The result?

Brilliant intuitions, characterized by a strong impact of sympathy expressed through the "abundant" forms and expressions of the eyes, always smiling and deep, so as to make it difficult to detach the gaze, as if waiting for the works from static to become dynamic.

A multifaceted artist, who fully deserves a showcase also in this site of Sicilian excellence.
